Some Whiskey Stones background
This unique Scandinavian type of stone made from “Viking whiskey stones” is about 400 million years old. Soapstone, also called talcum, consists mainly of talc and has the unique property that it retains cold and heat. The Vikings discovered this many many years ago and used this type of stone for making household goods. There the idea arose to make small soapstone cubes. Soapstone does not absorb liquids. It also gives no taste or smell to your drink. Natural soapstone is proved as safe by the FDA (Food Drug Association). It does not react with liquids such as alcohol, water or detergents.
How do you use your epic Whiskey Stones?
- Before first use: rinse the Whiskey Stones thoroughly with water, they are dishwasher proof but this isn’t necessary.
- Place the stones in the freezer for at least 2 hours, 4 hours give the optimal effect.
- Carefully put 2 to 3 stones in your drink and let them chill for a few minutes.
- After use, simply clean them with water and allow the stones to dry before putting them back in your freezer.
